1. What’s the difference between the two upgrade kits?
The DSP + AMPLIFIER + SUBWOOFER KIT focuses on enhancing the factory audio system while retaining the original nine speakers. The COMPLETE AUDIO UPGRADE KIT upgrades both the added speaker positions and all nine factory speaker locations, making it ideal for those seeking a more consistent sound signature, greater dynamic range, and more stable performance at higher volumes.
DSP + AMPLIFIER + SUBWOOFER KIT
- Retains the original nine factory speakers.
- Adds a 12-channel DSP amplifier, speakers for the factory-missing positions, and a dedicated subwoofer.
- Loads Model Y-specific sound data and precisely tunes crossover, time alignment, phase, level, and EQ.
COMPLETE AUDIO UPGRADE KIT
- Adds a 12-channel DSP amplifier and surround speakers for the factory-missing positions.
- Replaces all nine factory speakers to achieve consistent impedance, sensitivity, tonal balance, and power handling across the system.
- Adds a dedicated subwoofer and retunes the entire vehicle’s audio system for a more cohesive sound.
2. Will an OTA Update Affect the Upgraded Audio System?
A normal OTA update will not delete the sound data stored in the DSP amplifier or automatically disable the upgraded speakers or amplifier hardware. However, the T-Launch Audio Kit uses the vehicle's factory audio signal. If an OTA update changes the factory audio channel output, gain, crossover, EQ, notification sounds, or other audio control logic, the actual sound performance may change accordingly. If an OTA update changes the factory audio output, we will update the DSP sound data as needed to ensure compatibility with the new software.
3. What Are the Key Advantages of the T-Launch Audio Upgrade Kits?
Full-System Integration The DSP amplifier, speakers, subwoofer, dedicated wiring harnesses, mounting components, and vehicle-specific sound data are developed as one integrated system. The core value comes from how the entire system works together, rather than the specifications of any individual speaker.
Multiple Sound Profiles Choose from different sound profiles based on your personal listening preferences. We don't force every user into the same tuning style, and we continuously optimize the system based on vehicle compatibility and software updates.
4. What Will You Hear After the Upgrade?
1) Does the upgrade mainly improve bass, mids, highs, or the soundstage?
It is not designed to enhance just one frequency range. Instead, it improves bass extension, overall dynamics, vocal clarity, sound positioning, front-to-rear sound coverage, and stability at higher volumes.
2) How low can the bass extend?
The CW85.8 subwoofer has a rated frequency response of 30Hz–150Hz. In actual use, we set the high-pass filter at approximately 40Hz.
3) How high can the treble extend?
The CS40.5 has a rated upper frequency limit of 25kHz, while the T26 is rated up to 23kHz. However, what matters most when evaluating high-frequency performance is whether the sound is clear without being harsh, and whether it transitions naturally with the midrange—not simply the maximum frequency listed in the specifications.
4) Will vocals sound clearer?
Yes. The multi-channel DSP platform precisely matches the center channel, left and right channels, output levels, and time alignment, resulting in clearer vocals and more stable vocal positioning. We do not use unsupported percentage-based claims.
5) Will the soundstage be wider and imaging more precise?
By adding speakers in positions missing from the factory system and independently adjusting channel levels, time alignment, and phase, the system provides broader sound coverage and clearer front-to-rear positioning. Different sound profiles can be optimized for the driver’s seat, front-row listening, the entire cabin, spatial effects, vocals, and dynamics.
6) Will the bass feel more responsive?
The bass delivers greater impact and deeper extension while recovering faster. The goal is not simply to create more vibration. "Bass responsiveness" is a subjective listening characteristic rather than an independent test metric.
7) Is distortion less likely at high volume?
The T-Launch Audio Kit improves high-volume stability through proper power matching, crossover settings, gain control, and system protection. The upgraded system provides higher output capability and greater dynamic headroom. However, any audio system can produce distortion when operated beyond its designed limits, so we do not claim that it is completely distortion-free.
8) What is the biggest difference compared with the factory system?
The biggest difference is not simply increased volume. At the same vehicle volume setting, the upgraded system delivers greater impact, more noticeable dynamics, deeper bass, and fuller sound coverage for rear passengers. Users can also choose different sound profiles according to their personal listening preferences.
